finally finished first year :D, having my last review tutorial and getting my grade for the year tomorrow;
excited to started Second Year!
This is the work of French Artist Fabrice Hyber who is currently exhibiting at Baltic, Gateshead, UK. It consists of a big, inflatable cloud that hangs overhead, and a slanting rain. It’s only immitation rain, created from lots of line, which tether the cloud to the gallery floor.
The exhibition fills Baltic’s top floor with his ruminations on climate and sunshine and storms, cycles of growth and decay. There are three sheds, one contains a scatter of rainbow blips of watery sunshine. Another shed contains a thunderstorm, with lightning flashes, dark rumbles and water falling on the sodden duckboards at your feet. The third had a huge electric fan built into the shed’s side-wall, which turns itself on when you go in.There are dead flowers in cages and men made from vegatables and fruit, That would look real if you could perhaps only see their sillhouette.
I also saw some sketches and paintings that reminded me of diagrams and looked very impulsive.
this was one of the most inspiring exhibitions I have ever been too! its going to have a massive influence on my work in my second year of uni,
everyone should see his work its incredible!!!
